Our Group
Welcome to 21st Corby!

Who Are We?
The group started back in 2020 with the help of Darren, our Group Scout Leader, and support from the Glendon District Team. We had a great open day with plenty of activities, and plenty of attendees. A few adults even signed up to be helpers/leaders.
Unfortunately, as with most things in the UK, we were impacted by covid and had to close for a while. However, we pulled through and came out the other side. We even gained some different leaders.
In addition to the young people and leaders, we also have a small committee that provide support behind the scenes with finances and administration.
What do we do?
In your Scouting journey, you’ll have the chance to have a go at a wide range of activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, climbing and zorbing. As a Scout you can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming or even how to fly a plane!
There is something for everyone. It is a fantastic way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity, and experience the wider world.

Our HQ is Priors Hall Park Community Centre, though sometimes we will have special sessions elsewhere.
Sections get together during their own sessions, but you’ll get to know the rest of the group during fun end-of-term events, camps, district events and more.
We meet every Friday evening (term-time) at these times:
| Beavers | 6:00pm to 7:00pm |
| Cubs | 6:00pm to 7:00pm |
| Scouts | 7:00pm to 8:00pm |
PHP Community Centre, Gretton Road, Priors Hall Park, Corby, NN17 5EB
Accessibility
Our venue has a step-free entrance, and the room we use is accessible via lift. There is also plenty of dedicated parking, including spaces for Blue Badge holders. You are welcome to wait in the downstairs foyer for your child to finish, where there is plenty of seating.
We are always happy to welcome neurodivergent members and those with additional needs or disabilities. Please let the section leader know of any accommodations or reasonable adjustments we can make to ensure yourself or the young person feels welcome and comfortable taking part.
We will always respect that the young person themselves and their parents/carer are the experts on their individual needs.
Our Values

Integrity – We act with integrity; we are honest, trustworthy and loyal.
Respect – We have self-respect and respect for others.
Care – We support others and take care of the world in which we live.
Belief – We explore our faiths, beliefs and attitudes.
Co-operation – We make a positive difference; we co-operate with others and make friends.
Badges
Animal lover – check. Book worm – check. Photographer – check. Footballer – check. Daredevil – check.
You name it, we’ve got a badge for it – over 200 of them actually. Scouts work together on badges at their weekly meetings, away at camps and events, or at home. Badges are easy to earn, and for many, you don’t need anyone special to sign them off.
There’s never any pressure to do badges. Scouts can do as many or as few as they like. Find out more on the Scout website.
